Caroline County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Brian Stayton for assaulting girlfriend Ridgely, MD. – Colby William Grizzel- Ortinski, held on No Bond after chase.

According to Caroline County Sheriff’s Office a Deputy was dispatched to, Ridgely, MD in reference to a physical domestic assault in progress. Upon arrival, the Deputy was greeted by (The Victim) who advised that she was out with some friends for the evening and when she returned home she got in to a verbal argument with Brian Stayton (Boyfriend).


the victim advised the Deputy that the argument started out verbal and shortly after she was strangled around the neck by Stayton. She then advised the Deputy that Stayton then smacked her in the mouth with his hand causing injury to her bottom lip. The Deputy observed her lip where she advised him she was hit by Stayton and he observed swelling and redness. The Deputy inspected neck where she advised him that she was strangled and I did not observe any injuries. Stayton was arrested and charged with the assault. Stayton was released on his own recognizance by the commissioner. All events occurred in Ridgely, Caroline County, Md.




On Sunday, February 5, 2017,

At approximately 10:23 AM, Deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to 23627 Bridgetown Road, Henderson, Caroline County, Maryland in reference to locating Colby William Grizzel- Ortinski, who was wanted on an active Caroline County Circuit Court Bench Warrant.


Upon arrival, Colby was located inside of the residence. Deputies then attempted to place Colby under arrest, at which time Colby fled from the Deputies on foot. Deputies pursued Colby however, were unsuccessful in taking him into custody. Colby was then able to obtain a vehicle and attempted to flee from Deputies. Deputies and an Officer from the Ridgely Police Department gave chase to Colby over a extended period of time.


Deputies eventually were able to locate Colby and take Colby into custody. Colby was charged with several criminal charges as well as traffic charges. Colby was ultimately held on No Bond at the Caroline County Detention Center in reference to the criminal and traffic charges as well as the Caroline County Circuit Court Warrant. The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office was assisted during this incident by the Maryland State Police Easton, Centreville Barracks and Aviation Division, Ridgely Police Department and Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office.




On February 8, 2017,

At approximately 1839 hours, Deputies of the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 4300 block of Wachter Ave, Preston, Caroline County, Maryland in reference to a theft that had passed occurred. Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with the victim, at which time they advised they has a set of rims and tires stolen from their property. The victim described the rims as four (4) 22 inch Vison Off Road Manic black in color and four (4) RBP mud tires 33 inches. The victim advised they paid approximately $2,200 for the set of rims and tires. The victim advised the last time they saw the set of rims and tires was on February 7, 2017, at approximately 2030 hours.
