Talbot County Sheriff’s Office charged Kenny Silva Verardi, 30 of Easton, Travon Nelso Roberts, 28 of Easton, Charles Edgar Harrison, 45, of Tilghman. – Joan Carole Hutchinson, 53 of Nottingham, MD charged with theft of Crab pots, Tilghman Island.

On February 8, 2017Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office responded to Tilghman Island for a reported theft in progress.  The theft was reportedly occurring at Tonger’s Basin and involved crabbing equipment.  Upon arrival Deputies located Joan Carole Hutchinson, 53 of Nottingham, MD with 2 galvanized metal crab pots loaded into the back of her pickup truck.  The owner was contacted and identified his property, which was returnedHutchinson was placed under arrest, charged with theft. Hutchinson was taken before the District Court Commissioner and released on her personal recognizance with a trial date pending.




Over the past two weeks, county residents have reported several daytime burglaries in locations throughout the County. In most cases the front door of the residence is forced open, the residence entered and personal property removed. Residents are encouraged to be diligent in locking their homes and protecting their personal property. Residents should be on the lookout for suspicious persons and vehicles in their neighborhoods, and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately. On February 092017, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on Pleasant Alley near Blake Street. Deputies recognized the driver as Kenny Silva Verardi, 30 of Easton, Maryland and knew his driver’s license was suspended. Deputies made contact with Verardi and immediately detected the odor of burnt marijuana inside the vehicle. Deputies identified the passenger in the vehicle as Travon Nelso Roberts, 28 of Easton, Maryland.  A search of the vehicle revealed a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Verardi was charged with driving on a suspended license and Roberts was charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Verardi was released by the District Court Commissioner on a $3,000.00 unsecured bond, and Roberts was released on a $4,000.00 unsecured bond.





On February 102017, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance from Officers from the St. Michaels Police Department, conducted a traffic stop on a red in color Ford Ranger pickup for an equipment violation in the area of North Talbot Street and Dodson Avenue, St. Michaels, Maryland.Deputies identified the driver as Charles Edgar Harrison, 45, of Tilghman, Maryland.  A consent search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and paraphernalia; which Harrison admitted ownership. Harrison was issued a civil citation for possession of marijuanand released upon his signature.
