12/23/2017 Date: Forgery / Prescription Location: DENTON PLAZA

Denton Police charged Brittany Bowers, 27 of Church Hill, Nicole Macey, 37 of Goldsboro, and James Stack, 33 of East New Market, with numerous controlled dangerous substance violations. On December 23, 2016 police responded to Rite Aide where staff reported that Macy had attempted to obtain oxycodone tablets by using a forged prescription. Staff further advised that they had contacted the issuing doctor’s office who advised that their office had not issued that prescription. It was also learned that another prescription had been passed on December 12, 2017 for oxycodone tablets for Bowers. That prescription was picked up by Stack. Charges were applied for and criminal summons were issued for each of the suspects. All summons have been served without incident.

Bowers was charged with conspiracy to possess CDS not marijuana, obtain CDS by fraud, obtain a prescription by fraud, obtain a prescription by making a forgery, obtain CDS by altering a prescription and possession of CDS not marijuana.

Macey was charged with obtain CDS by fraud, obtain a prescription by fraud, obtain a prescription by making a forgery and obtain CDS by altering a prescription.

Stack was charged with obtain CDS by fraud, obtain a prescription by fraud, obtain a prescription by making a forgery, obtain CDS by altering a prescription and possession of CDS not marijuana.

 

 

 

Date: 02/10/2017 MDOP Under $500 Location: 400 block MARKET ST

Denton police are investigating damage to a gate. The victim reported that they left their place of employment on February 9, 2017, at approximately 5:10 pm, and the gate was fine. They returned on February 10, 2017, at approximately 7:25 am, and observed the gate was damaged. Date: 02/11/2017  Driving w/o license Location: 1200 block PAINTED FERN RD

Denton Police charged a 16 year old male of Denton with driving without a license. Police were patrolling in the above area when they observed a vehicle being operated at what appeared to be above the posted 25 mile an hour speed limit. When police caught up with the vehicle the operator turned the headlights off, while still operating the vehicle on the roadway, and abruptly pulled into a driveway. The operator then exited the vehicle and began to walk away but stopped when advised to do so by police. The operator was unable to produce a license when requested. A check of MVA records revealed that the operator did not possess a license. The operator was referred to the Department of Juvenile Justice, charged with the above violation and released to a guardian.

 

 

 

Date: 02/12/2017  Burglary 2nd Degree / General Location: DENTON PLAZA

Denton Police are investigating a burglary. Police responded to the China House restaurant for a citizens report of the front door glass being broken out. The owner of the business was notified and responded to the scene. The owner advised a tip jar was taken from the counter. Date: 02/13/2017 MDOP Under $500 Location: 500 block N 6TH ST

Denton Police are investigating an MDOP. The victim reported that person(s) unknown broke an outside light cover on the rear of their garage. Date: 02/13/2017 Time Driving on a Suspend License Location: 600 block LEGION RD

Denton Police charged Antwone Williams, 27 of Washington DC, with driving on a suspended license. Police stopped a 2017 Lincoln in connection with a criminal investigation and identified the operator as Williams. A check of MVA records revealed that Williams’ license was suspended. Williams was issued a citation at the scene and released upon receipt of that citation.

 

 

 

Date: 02/14/2017 Time Theft under $1000 Location: 600 block LEGION RD

Denton Police are investigating a theft. Walmart loss prevention staff reported that on February 12, 2017, at approximately 1:25 pm, an unknown female entered the store with nothing visible on her person. Review of video shows the female, described as white with dark colored hair, in the electronics where she places laptop computers in the cart. A purse is also observed in the cart that the suspect did not enter the store with. The suspect is then observed passing all points of payment and leaving the store. The video also showed the female arrived in a gold minivan. Please check the Denton Police Department Facebook page for a photo of the suspect.
