Caroline County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lamonte R. Carter Jr of Ridgely for Assault and Possess / Issue counterfeit currency.
On March 2, 2017 the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office responded to Easton Memorial Hospital, Easton, Maryland for a reported assault. Upon the arrival of deputies it was learned the victim had been assaulted on February 26, 2017 at 23311 Ninetown Road, Ridgely, Maryland.
While speaking with the victim he advised that he arrived at the suspects residence to speak with him about a counterfeit $50.00 he exchanged for him. The suspect was later identified as Lamonte R. Carter Jr. The victim stated while speaking with Carter Jr. about the counterfeit currency, Carter Jr. began punching him several times in the face. The victim advised as a result of being assaulted he suffered several facial fractures along with bleeding on the brain. The victim was later transported to R. Crowley Adams Shock Trauma Center for further medical treatment and remains in stable condition.
On March 3, 2017 an arrest warrant was obtained for Carter Jr., at which time he was arrested at his residence on Ninetown Road.
Carter Jr. was served with a copy of the arrest warrant and later taken before the Caroline County District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance. Carter Jr. was ordered held without bond and released to the custody of the Caroline County Detention Center.
