On March 15 at 2207 Hours, Deputies were dispatched to the Friendly Food & Gas Station on Main Street in Stevensville for an unresponsive male subject in the bathroom of the store. The clerk working advised he noticed that someone had been in the bathroom for an extended amount of time and knocked on the door. After getting no response he called 911.


When deputies arrived they also attempted to contact the person inside and after getting no response, forced the door open and found a deceased later identified as Gary Xavier Paul (74) of Chester.


Investigation included a review of the store’s camera footage which showed that Paul had entered the bathroom almost 10 hours earlier. Based on evidence found with the deceased, the death is believed to be of natural causes and an existing medical condition. The body was removed to a local funeral home.


Thefts from Vehicles

Deputies are investigating several reports of tampering with vehicle in the Bishop Meadows community just off RT 301 Queenstown. One victim reported the theft of $5.00 of coins taken from her unlocked Ford truck. A second victim reported $60 was taken from her husband’s unlocked vehicle.


Videos from that morning between 0130 to 0230 hours show three suspects trying doors on vehicles at additional residences with nothing taken.
