Rosetta Brickhouse, former triple athlete for NCHS (Volleyball, Basketball & Softball Class of ’86’),  I am reaching out to my home town to solicit support for my daughter, Talasia Brickhouse.

With the cusp of the Track & Field season upon us, I am hopeful that you would entertain the conversation about an up and rising Track & Field athlete in the area.

I wish to put before you, Talasia Brickhouse, a sophomore at Polytech High School. Ms. Brickhouse is a standout Polytech High School student athlete who has been invited to attend a track & field invitational hosted in Australia by Down Under Sports this coming summer.  Of course, to attend such a trip, Talasia will need to raise funds for expenses, and I am hopeful that you can assist with getting some publicity to her fund raising efforts to any would-be interested patrons that wish to support her cause.

In her rookie season as a freshman last spring, Talasia made an immediate impact with the panther track & field team.  She placed in the top five triple jumpers in the DIAA state championship, and she also joined teammates to help lead a formidable sprint relays.  Sparking a strong team that finished 8-4 overall, Talasia led all her teammates, including many veteran upperclassmen, in total points for the season.  Again, she achieved all of these accolades as only a freshman.

Meanwhile in the classroom, she continues to mature as she grows toward her senior year.  Enrolled in the Medical Assisting program at Polytech. She strikes a sound balance between academics and extracurricular activities. She stays involved after school with a variety of clubs and programs, and as Mr. Bloom saw in his English class last year, she enjoys the challenge of learning.  Energetic and upbeat, Talasia will be a viable college candidate within a few years once she graduates.

In a couple of weeks, the 2017 spring track season will begin, and Talasia appears poised for more success (on and off the track).  Led by a passionate spirit for competition, she has spent the winter off season working with a local club (JDTF – John Drummond Track Field) in hopes of building on her rookie season. For this reason, I put my trust and faith into Talasia Brickhouse, and I certainly believe she will gain valuable experience  by attending the Down Under Track & Field event this summer.  I hope you feel the same and would assist me in publicizing her efforts to raise funds for her trip expenses.

We look forward to hearing from you and gaining your support as we seek to reach Australia this Summer!
