Denton Maryland Police Issues Citations to The Following People. (4/21/2017)

 According to Denton Police: 

Date: 04/07/2017  CDS; Possession-Marihuana Location: 400 block N 6TH ST

Denton Police charged Taylor Knight, 18 of Denton, for possession of suspected marijuana under 10 grams. Police stopped to assist a disabled motor vehicle and upon making contact with the operator, identified as Knight, police detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and four (4) partially burnt cigarettes, containing suspected marijuana, were located in the car. Knight was issued a civil citation for the violation and released upon receipt of that citation.

Denton Police charged Dustin Sansing, 19 of Clayton DE, with possession of suspected marijuana less than 10 grams. Police stopped a 2003 Lincoln for a seatbelt violation and identified the operator as Sansing. During the course of the stop a police K9 was deployed to conduct an open air sniff of the vehicle for the presence of controlled dangerous substances and the K9 alerted. A probable cause search was conducted and a small amount of suspected marijuana was recovered. Sansing was issued a civil citation for the marijuana possession and traffic citations for not wearing a seat belt and failing to display his license on demand. Sansing was release upon receipt of the Citations.

 

 

Date: 04/12/2017  poss CDS marijuana less than 10 grams Location: N 6TH ST

Denton Police charged James Nawrocki, 23 of Denton, with possession of suspected marijuana less than ten grams. Police stopped Nawrocki in reference to an unrelated matter and When contact was made police noted a strong odor on raw marijuana. A probable cause search was conducted and a small quantity of suspected marihuana was recovered. Nawrocki was issued a civil citation for the violation and released on receipt of that citation.

 

 

Date: 04/16/2017 Theft from $10,000 to under $100,000 Location: 1100 block INDUSTRIAL PARK

Denton Police are investigating the theft of wheels and tires. A citizen flagged a Denton Police officer down and advised there were vehicle’s on Hertrich Chevrolet lot that were missing wheels and tires. Further investigation revealed that a total of five vehicles had wheels and tires removed with a total loss of over $28,000.00. Date: 04/17/2017 Burglary 4th Degree Location: 200 BLOCK MARYLAND AV

Denton Police are investigating a burglary. Members of the Denton Little League reported that sometime between April 15 and 17, 2017 person(s) unknown forced entry into the snack shack at the Lions Club Park and stole and undetermined amount of food items (candy, chips, etc.). Date: 04/19/2017 Time 11:32 Classification Theft under $1000 Location: 600 block LEGION RD

Denton Police charged Gilbert Passwaters, 77 of Greensboro, with theft under $1000.00. Walmart loss prevention staff reported observing Passwaters enter the store, retrieve a shopping cart and go immediately to the self checkout and take a shopping bag. Passwaters then travelled throughout the store placing several items into the shopping cart. Passwaters then place those items into the shopping bag and attempted to exit the store. Loss prevention then detained Pass waters. A total of seven items were located in the Shopping bag having an approximately value of $105.00. Passwaters was issued a criminal citation for the above violation and released on receipt of that Citation.
