Chesapeake Charities calls for nominations for Philanthropist, Nonprofit, Volunteer of the Year.

STEVENSVILLE, MD – Chesapeake Charities is calling for nominations for Philanthropist, Nonprofit and Volunteer of the Year to be presented at its second annual Celebration of Charity luncheon being held on November 16 at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville. The deadline to submit nominations is Tuesday, August 1, 2017.


Linda Kohler, Chesapeake Charities Executive Director said, “There is an amazing amount of charitable work being done in our community. We were overwhelmed by the quality of the nominations last year and look forward to highlighting the exceptional people and organizations that make this region such a great place to live and work.”


Nominations are requested from the community-at-large for the following prestigious awards:

Philanthropist of the Year will recognize an individual or organization who has demonstrated outstanding generosity and community leadership. Volunteer of the Year will honor an individual who has gone above and beyond in fulfilling their service role. Nonprofit of the Year will be presented to an organization that has consistently provided communities and families with vital support systems.


Nominees must be from one of the seven counties served by Chesapeake Charities: Anne Arundel, Calvert, Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne and Talbot. Award recipients will be recognized at the November 16 luncheon. Nomination forms can be obtained online at or by calling Chesapeake Charities’ office at (410) 643-4020. The nomination deadline is Tuesday, August 1, 2017.
