Talbot County Sheriff’s Office Make Arrests , Serve Warrants and Issue Citations on the Following People – 6/13/2017

CDS Arrest: On June 2, 2017,

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on Ocean Gateway near Dutchmans Lane for a moving violation. Deputies identified the driver as Ashley Marie Helgason, 22 of Abingdon, MD and a passenger as Steve Boateng, 23 of Edgewood, MD. Deputies developed probable cause and Talbot County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Raven was called to the scene. Prior to a K-9 scan of the vehicle, Helgason admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle’s trunk, which a search of the vehicle confirmed. Helgason and Boateng were issued civil citations for possessing marijuana and released upon their signature.

 

 

DUI Arrest: On June 3, 2017,

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on Ocean Gateway near Manadier Road, for a moving violation. Deputies identified the driver as Katelyn Elizabeth Crandall, 20 of Pasadena, MD and detected an odor of alcohol on her breath. Crandall was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, and was unable to perform them satisfactorily. Crandall was arrested and charged with driving while impaired by alcohol, speeding and driving in violation of a license restriction. Crandall was released to a sober driver upon her signature on the traffic citations.

 

 

Warrant Service: On June 2, 2017,

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant on Joseph Samuel Thomas, 53 of Cambridge, MD. On May 12, 2017 a warrant was issued by the Talbot County Circuit Court for failure to appear on charges of assault and reckless endangerment. Thomas was transported to the Talbot County Detention Center and ordered held without bond.

 

 

Theft Arrest:​On June 02, 2017,

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Anthony Herold, 26 of Greensboro, Maryland for felony theft. Herold was charged with theft as a result of an ongoing Talbot County Sheriff’s Office investigation. Herold was taken before a District Court Commissioner and was released on his personal recognizance pending further court action.

 

 

DUI Arrest: On June 3, 2017,

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of Martingham Drive and Pintail Drive for a motor vehicle accident where a single vehicle collision damaged personal property and left the scene. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle on Pintail Drive and identified the driver as Peter Joseph Markano, 26 of St Michaels, MD. Markano was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and negligent driving. Markano was later released upon his signature on the citations pending a court date.

 

 

CDS Arrest:​On June 04, 2017,

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on Ocean Gateway near Sanderstown Road for a moving violation. Deputies identified the driver as George Alton 3rd, 28 of Arnold, MD and a passenger as Mary Kelly, 28 of Arnold, MD. Deputies developed probable cause and requested the assistance of a K-9. Talbot County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Fred responded to the scene and conducted a scan of the vehicle resulting in a positive alert. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and paraphernalia. Kelly and Alton were issued civil citations and released from the scene on their signature pending a court appearance.

 

 

CDS Arrest: On June 8, 2017,

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on Ocean Gateway at mile marker 70 for a moving violation. Deputies identified the driver as Wayne Spence, of Federalsburg, MD. Deputies detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. Spence was found to be in possession of marijuana and was issued a civil citation. Spence was released from the scene on his signature.

 

 

CDS Arrest: On June 8, 2017,

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on Ocean Gateway at mile marker 70 for a moving violation. Deputies identified the driver as Alexis Manful and a passenger as Alimay Bangura, 18 of Hyattsville, MD. Deputies developed probable cause and a search revealed Bangura was in possession of marijuana. Bangura was issued a civil citation charging him with possession of marijuana and he was released on his signature.

 

 

CDS Arrest: On June 9, 2017,

Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on Ocean Gateway near Dutchman’s Lane for a moving violation. Deputies identified the driver as Adam Joseph Sibiski of Easton, Maryland. Deputies detected the odor of marijuana and Sibiski admitted to possessing marijuana. A search of the vehicle verified marijuana in the vehicle and Sibiski was issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana. Sibiski was released from the scene on his signature.
