Caroline County Public Library launches new catalog in August

| July 19, 2017 | 0 Comments

Great news! The Caroline County Public Library is moving to a new,

more user-friendly catalog coming in August!

Eight Eastern Shore libraries (Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worcester) are joining forces to create a shared library catalog to offer a better user experience.  Soon you will be able to check out and return your library materials at any of these counties with your local library card.

This cooperative system will increase customer convenience, shorten the time needed to fill holds on your favorite books and movies and get your library materials into your hands!  You can access all eight counties’ collections in one online catalog.

How will the transition process affect our customers?

It will cause a temporary loss of some services from August 1-21.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Online access to the library’s catalog, material renewals and your account will be unavailable from August 11-22.
• Plan on returning library materials either before August 11 or after August 22.
• Due dates during limited services period will be extended to August 22.
• Place any anticipated holds prior to August 11 (both local holds and Marina borrowing from other libraries).
• During this period, be sure to bring your library card withyou; you will need it to check out.
• Please bring in any items you want to renew, as we will not have access to your library record to renew items.

We appreciate your patience as we transition to our new systemIf you need assistance or have questions during this transition period, please call us at 410-479-1343, Ext. 1.  We are always happy to help!
