Classification Animal Cruelty.  Location: 600 block LEGION RD

Denton Police charged Zulma Zacarias-Argueta, 33 of Ridgely, with animal cruelty. Police responded to Walmart for a report of a dog locked in a vehicle for an extended period of time and the dog appeared to be in distress. Police learned that Walmart staff made announcements regarding the vehicle description and the dog over their intercom system and no one responded to the announcements so they contacted the Humane Society and police. The operator and owner of the dog was located after a period of time. The Humane Society took the dog to a veterinarian for medical treatment. The suspect was issued a criminal citations for the above offence and released upon receipt of that citation.

Classification Theft under $1000.  Location: 600 block LEGION RD

Denton Police charged Jeremy Lohrfink, 19 of Seaford DE, and Logan Maul, 19 of Harrington DE, with theft under $1000.00. Walmart loss prevention staff reported observing the pair exiting the garden section of the store and each Were pushing a cart containing unpaid for merchandise. Loss prevention staff detained the suspects and contacted police. The pair had taken ammunition and other related items. Both Were issued criminal citations for the above Violation and released on receipt of those citations. Both were also banned from all Walmart Properties.

Classification Failure to remain at scene of accident.  Location: 0 block DENTON PZ

Denton Police are investigating a hit and run motor vehicle collision. The victim reported that they were parked at Denton Plaza and when they returned to the vehicle they found damage to the side of the vehicle. Police observed white paint transfer on the victim’s vehicle. A witness provided a photo of a vehicle that was suspected to have caused the damage but further investigation ruled that vehicle out. The photo depicted a White pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet, parked next to the victim’s car, on the same side that was damaged but there is no further description of this vehicle. Classification DUI.  Location: 10500 block GREENSBORORD

Denton Police charged Connie Bingaman, 49 of Barclay MD, with DUI. Police stopped a 1998 Chevrolet truck for driving erratically and identified the operator as Bingaman. Police detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming for the breath and person of Bingaman and requested that she perform a series of standardized field sobriety tests. Those tests had to be stopped for Bingaman’s safety as she was having difficulty standing. Bingaman was placed under arrest and issued citations for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Bingaman was given a ride home after receiving the citations.

Classification Driving on a Suspend License. Location: 5TH / FRANKLINST

Denton Police charged Tyshawn Hicks, 21 of Denton, with driving on a suspended license. Police were in District Court for a case where Hicks had been charged with driving on a suspended license. After court had concluded police observed Hicks operating a 2010 Jeep, the same vehicle that he had been stopped in previously. Police confirmed that Hicks’ license was still suspended and initiated a traffic stop. Hicks was issued citations at the scene for the violation and released upon receipt of those citations.

Classification Theft less than $100 Location: 300 block S 5TH ST

Denton Police are investigating the theft of a flag and pole. The victim reported that sometime between July 16 and 18, 2017 persons unknown stole a Maryland flag and pole that was on their residence.
