Date: 08/03/2017  Driving Under Influence of Alcohol Location: S 2ND ST

Denton Police charged Amy Woodward, 45 of Denton, with suspicion of DUI and other traffic offenses. Police responded to the 200 block of south 2nd Street in reference to a motor vehicle collision. Investigation revealed that Woodward was operating a 2004 Chrysler, traveling south on 2nd Street when it struck a parked 2004 BMW. That portion of S. 2nd Street in one way, north bound.

 

When officers made contact with Woodward they detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage from her breath and person. Officers also noted that Woodward was very unstable on her feet and that her speech was slurred. Woodward was offered the opportunity to complete standardized field sobriety tests but she would not agree to do them. Woodward was taken into custody Without incident. Woodward Was then offered to take a breath test to determine alcohol concentration and she agreed to the test. Once at the testing location Woodward failed to comply with the test administrator’s instructions and the test was terminated. Woodward was issued citations for DUI and driving the Wrong way on a one way street and given a ride to a friend’s residence after receiving the citations.

Denton Police arrested Jennifer Jolley, 37 of Denton, for second degree assault. Police responded to the above location in reference to a disturbance. On arrival officers spoke with the victim who had visible signs of minor injuries and their shirt was torn. Investigation revealed that the defendant ripped the victim’s shirt and struck the victim after a verbal argument. The defendant was taken into custody, charged with the above violation and taken before a District Court Commissioner Who ordered the defendant held without bond after an initial appearance hearing.
