On Saturday, October 21, Continuum Dance will offer a public master class at To the Pointe Dance Studio in Ridgely. Beginning at 9am, Artistic Director Chloe Tong will lead participants through warm-up, continue with modern movements, and teach pieces of company choreography.

The class is open to adults and students, age 12 and up. Some dance training is required, although individuals of all backgrounds and levels are encouraged to attend. Master class fees are $15 per attendee and can be paid upon arrival with cash or check.

Tong graduated from Randolph College with a BFA in dance in 2014. While at Randolph, she trained in Modern dance under Pamela Hisenhoover, with the core technique of Martha Graham. Tong also studied under the techniques of Take (Ta-Ka) Ueyama, Isadora Duncan, Dominique Angel (danced with the Joffrey Ballet), and many Paul Taylor dancers. She has performed pieces such as Esplanade (Paul Taylor), Footsteps in The Snow, Flight (Take dance company), as well as several Duncan pieces.

Following the master class, Continuum Dance will host open auditions for both Student Apprentice positions, as well as adult Company members. Auditions, beginning at 11am, will include large and small group presentations and dancers are expected to quickly learn and perform choreography. All audition choreography will be in the modern dance style.

Auditions are open to adults and students, age 12 and up. Audition fees of $15 student apprentices and $20 adults can be paid upon arrival with cash or check. Dancers interested in auditioning are encouraged to also attend the master class. A $5 discount applies to participants attending both the master class and auditions.

Registration is required for each event at bit.ly/ContinuumOct21.
