UM Memorial Hospital Foundation to Host Seminar on Planning for Elder Care Tips and Traps Seminar coming to Denton.

University of Maryland Memorial Hospital Foundation will host a free seminar, “Elder Care …Planning Tips and Traps: How to Meet Taxes, Family Goals and Long-Term Care Costs” on Thursday, September 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Caroline County Public Library, 100 Market Street in Denton, Maryland. Guest speakers for the seminar are Ann Karwacki Goodman, Esq., partner, Parker Goodman Gordon & Hammock, LLC, and Billy Weber, president, Billy D. Weber & Associates.

The informative seminar will provide an overview of funding concepts for long-term care including asset transfer, spend down and traditional products; a detailed explanation of long-term care, hybrid life insurance products and important provisions; an update on estate taxes; necessary long-term care planning documents (including the new MOLST form); and a summary of indications for the establishment of a trust.

A frequent lecturer on estate planning and wealth preservation, Ann Goodman has been practicing law in the Mid Shore region for more than 20 years. Her practice focuses on estate planning, tax planning and estate administration, with special concentration in elder law, asset protection and planning for individuals with disabilities. She also assists with probate and trust administration, estate litigation and guardianship matters.

Billy Weber is the President of Billy D. Weber & Associates, formed in 1990 and functions as an independent Life and Health insurance agency. He has over 37 years of experience coordinating with the legal and accounting professionals to package the most appropriate and competitive products for family financial security, including estate planning and business planning.
