Caroline County Sheriff’s Office make arrests on Shuron Latay Douglas, Medford Hutson and Christopher Troy Kellenbenz Jr.

On 09/12/17 at approx 2200 hours

Deputies responded to the area of Gay St and 7th St in Denton MD for a report of a suspicious person hiding behind a telephone pole. The caller advised the male subject had been standing there for over 20 min and was acting very strange.


Upon the Deputies arrival he located Shuron Latay Douglas standing next to a telephone pole holding a bike. He was facing the pole and appeared to be hiding his face behind the pole with his nose touching the pole. The deputy approached Douglas and asked him if he was ok. Douglas stood there looking at him with a blank stare on his face and did not respond. He was again asked if he was ok and he jumped like the deputy startled him even though he had been staring at the deputy for approx 1 min. He was asked several more times and Douglas still refused to communicate. The Deputy could tell through his training, knowledge and experience that Douglas was under the influence of some type of Controlled Dangerous Substance.


Due to the extreme level of intoxication Douglas was not able to care for himself and could not be left alone on the street. Deputies tried for 20 mins to get Douglas to provide an address or phone number to get him home safely and he was not able to respond to the questions. After further investigation Douglas was found to have PCP in his possession and was placed under arrest. He was charged with CDS Possession not marijuana, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.



On 9/17/17,

Members of the CCSO conducted a traffic stop at Cedar Ln. and Holly Rd. Greensboro MD. The Driver of an Oldsmobile minivan was identified as Medford Hutson. Hutson had several outstanding warrants which lead to his arrest. A search of the vehicle and surrounding area yielded SUBOXONE and Heroin. Hutson was also Revoked and suspended. Hutson was held without bond.



On Thursday, September 21, 2017,

The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office was requested to respond to the above listed address in reference to an assault complaint. Investigation revealed that Paramedics were summoned to the scene and it was determined that the victim had suffer injuries in which she need treatment for. The offender was identified as Christopher Troy Kellenbenz Jr. who was taken into custody and charged with one count of Second Degree Assault. Kellenbenz was seen by the District Court Commissioner in reference to an intial appearance being held, at which time it was determined that he would be held at the Caroline County Detention Center on No Bond.

    He’s my son and I hope that they keep him in jail for a long time cause you don’t put your hands on my mother or any woman for any reason!!
