Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff are investigating a shooting from earlier today, that resulted in the death of a 19 year old.

On November 19, 2017 at 4:39a.m., Deputies from the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff, other law enforcement personnel from allied agencies, and the Maryland State Police Crime Lab responded to a 911 call at 1A Fisher Manor in Grasonville, MD to check the welfare of a person at that address. Upon their arrival, Deputies located a male victim on the second floor of his home, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.


EMS personnel from the Queen Anne’s Department of Emergency Services arrived shortly afterward and pronounced the victim deceased. The victim was identified as Maiky Jerrally Ferreras (African American Male, 19 y/o), whom resides at that address.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit are conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Ferreras, as well as his activities prior. This is an open and active investigation, and more information will be released as it is received. This incident is believed to be isolated in nature. At this time we do not believe there is any additional threat to the community, Sheriff’s Deputies will have an increased presence and additional patrols this evening and into tomorrow.

This will include monitoring nearby county facilities, schools, and known day cares. “We take all crime seriously, and the residents of Queen Anne’s County can be assured that all divisions of my agency are actively involved in and are making every effort to identify, locate, and apprehend anyone that was involved in this brutal crime.
