Date: 12/20/2017  Driving on a Suspend License Location: S 5TH AV

Denton Police charge Matthew Patterson, 29 of Preston, with driving on a suspended/revoked license. Police stopped a 2007 Chrysler for an equipment violation (headlight out) and identified the operator as Patterson. A check of MWA records revealed that Patterson’s license was suspended/revoked. Patterson was issued a safety equipment repair order for the headlight and citations for failing to display license on demand and driving on a suspended/revoked license. Patterson was released upon receipt of those documents and the vehicle was removed by a licensed operator.

 

 

Date : 12/22/2017  CDS Paraphernalia 1st Offense Location: 100 block N 3RD ST

Denton Police arrested Kenneth Murph, 50 of Denton, for possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. Police stopped Murph to speak with him about an unrelated matter and they were also aware there was an active bench warrant for Murph for failing to appear in court. Once the Warrant was confirmed Murph was taken into custody. A search incident to arrest led to the seizure of a beverage can that had been converted into a CDS smoking device. Murph was charged with the above violation, served the bench Warrant and was taken before a District Court Commissioner Who ordered Murph released on his own recognizance after an initial appearance hearing.

 

 

Date: 12/24/2017 Driving on a Suspend License Location: DENTON PZ

Denton Police charged Richard Janvier, 28 of Greensboro, with driving on a suspended license. Police stopped a 2003 GMC for failing to stop at a stop light and identified the operator as Janvier. A check of MVA records revealed Janvier’s license was suspended for failing to pay a fine. Janvier was issued citations for failing to stop at a red light, driving Without a license and driving on a suspended license and released upon receipt of those citations.

 

 

Date: 12/30/2017  Burglary 4th Degree Location: 500 block RIVERVIEW GARDENS

Denton Police arrested Demarkus Hicks, 29 of Denton, for burglary. The victim called 911 reporting that her child’s father, identified as Hicks, had forced entry into the victim’s apartment through a bed room window. While officers were on the scene Hicks returned to the apartment and was taken into custody without incident. Hicks was charged with 4th degree burglary and MDOP. Hicks was taken before a District Court Commissioner who ordered Hicks released on $5,000.00 unsecured bond after an initial appearance hearing.
