Date: 01/27/2018 Driving uninsured motor vehicle Location: N 6TH ST

Denton police charged Joseph Lituski, 30 of Hillsboro, with having switched tags and other related offences. Police stopped a 2003 Cadillac after receiving an alert from a license plate recognition (LPR) system. The alert advised that the tags on the vehicle were suspended. This was confirmed through an MVA check and it was also learned that the tags displayed belonged on a Mazda not a

Cadillac. Lituski was issued citations for failure to display registration card upon demand, driving vehicle on highway without current registration plates and validation tabs, displaying registration plates issued for other vehicle, unauthorized display and use of registration plate, operating unregistered motor vehicle on highway and knowingly driving uninsured vehicle. Lituski was released up receipt of those citations and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

 

 

Date: 01/28/2018 Theft less than $100 Location: 600 block LEGION RD

Denton Police charged Kelvin Wiggins, 38 of Denton, with theft under $100.00. Walmart loss prevention staff reported observing Wiggins conceal a video game on his person and exit the store without paying for it. Wiggins was located at his residence and issued a criminal citation for the above violation.

 

 

Date: 01/28/2018  Driving on a Suspend License Location: 600 block LEGION RD

Denton Police charged Kelvin Wiggins, 38 of Denton, with driving on a suspended license. Police were conducting an unrelated investigation when they observed video of Wiggins driving a motor vehicle. Police had prior knowledge that Wiggins’ license was suspended. Contact was made with Wiggins and he was issued a citation for the above offense. Wiggins was released upon receipt of that citation.

Denton Police charge Mohamed Sesay, 21 of Denton, with driving without a license. Police stopped a 2008 Ford for failing to stop at a stop sign and identified the operator as Sesay, who was not able top produce a license. A check of MVA records revealed Sesay’s license had expired in November 2017 and that he was eligible for a license. The vehicle also had expired tags displayed. Sesay was issued citations for driving without a license and failing to display a license on demand. He was also issued warnings for displaying an expired registration and failing to stop at a stop sign. Sesay was released upon receipt of those documents and the vehicle was removed by a licensed operator who was a passenger in the vehicle.

 

 

Date: 01/29/2018 Driving w/o license Location: N 6TH ST

Denton Police charged Keanna Knox, 26 of Denton, with without a license. Police stopped a 1998 Lexus for an equipment violation (headlight out) and identified the operator as Knox. A check of MVA records revealed that Knox was eligible for a license but did not posses one. Knox was issued a safety equipment repair order for the headlight and a citation for driving without a license. Knox was released upon receipt of those documents and the car was removed by a licensed driver who was a passenger in the car.

 

 

Date: 02/01/2018 Driving w/o license Location: S FIFTH ST

Denton Police charged David Thomas, 41 of Seaford DE, with driving on a suspended license along with several other traffic violations. Police stopped a 2002 Chevrolet because the temporary Delaware tag displayed was unreadable. On approach the officer observed that the tag expired in May of 2017. The driver was identified as Thomas. A check of MVA records revealed that Thomas’ license was suspended in DE. Thomas was issued citations for Failure to Display License on Demand, Person Driving Motor Vehicle on Highway on Suspended Out of State License, Driving

Motor Vehicle on Highway Without Required License, Displaying Expired Registration Plate issued by any State, Driving Vehicle on Highway Without Current Registration Plates and Validation Tabs and Operating Unregistered Motor Vehicle on Highway and releases upon receipt of those citations. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
