CAMBRIDGE — Cambridge police announced Wednesday, Feb. 7, a Cambridge woman faces murder charges after she allegedly shot and killed a man she apparently lived with on Jan. 30.

 

Police said Lasonya C. Sargent, 39, of 803 Wood Duck Drive, was charged with first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, use of a weapon in a violent crime and false statement to a police officer. She is being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center without bond.

 

Cambridge Police spokesman Lt Justin Todd said when officer responded to 803 Wood Duck Court at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, for a reported shooting, the officers found Sargent with a gunshot wound to her chest, and Sharod Ileak Mack, 34, of Cambridge, with two gunshot wounds to his head area.

 

He said Mack was pronounced dead at the scene, and Sargent was taken to University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester in Cambridge for emergency treatment and then University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
